Siddhagiri – A holy Centre

As it is clear from the title, this place seems to be the culmination of the untiring efforts, intelligent planning and dedication of innumerable saints, ascetics and sages. The region is 300 feet above the mean sea level. It is surrounded by attractive greenery, nature. All young and old alike are captivated at the sight of this enchanting spot.
The historical eminence and significance, which this pious pilgrimage centre is enjoying is the result of the grace of the late Shree Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji who has composed about 500 hymns in ‘kannada’ language and who was named as the first head of ‘Siddhagiri Peeth’.So far there have been 26 heads of this ‘Peeth’.The present swamiji, H.H. Adrushya Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji was duly anointed and installed as the 27th head.
This holy centre is situated about 10 kms away from Kolhapur known as ‘Dakshinkaashi’ where the famous ‘Mahalaxmi Temple’ is located. It is 4 kms away from ‘Pune-Banglore’ highway which is national express highway no.4. Railway system is another facility for communication. There is an airport located nearby ‘Ujalaiwadi’ – 9 km away from Kolhapur.
This religious place is situated midway joining north and south of the country, because this place is just 4km away from the national express highway no.4. People and pilgrims travelling from south to north and vice-versa do visit ‘Siddhagiri Math’. Hence this place is always crowded by devotees. We don’t find any discrimination with the people in respect of caste, creed and/or religion. On the full moon day of every month thousands of devotees from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa invariably throng this centre. Besides various programs and activities such as serving free food, blood donation camps, enlightening young children and youth etc. are also arranged. During festive occasions and congregations free medical service is provided. There exists enough favorable climate for developing educational, agricultural and animal husbandry fields.
At this place manufacturing of fairly good quality of textiles is done. Arrangements for the sales of these goods at reasonable rates are also made. Further, a hospital equipped with 200 beds is coming up for the benefit of local people and visitors.

H.H. Adrushya Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji is a proprietor of the Siddhagiri Math and Siddhagiri Gurukul Trust(SGT). A soul with spellbound enthusiasm bearing multiple social and spiritual responsibilities. His visionary mind has given birth to many creative ideas and projects. Some of the projects are mentioned in the NEWS section. Math has several branches in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. Swamiji visit these branches and enlighten people with spiritual thought sharing sessions. Commanding knowledge in Sanskrit language makes their life teaching speeches more impressive. His contribution to well being of the human society well being is appreciable.
